Joshua earned his bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University in 2004. For the next seven years, he gained valuable experience with large-scale master planned communities and design work for the National Park Service. He then entered the residential design/build sector for nine years, expanding his experience in the field and working closely with clients and contractors. Joshua found his passion in the hands-on approach of design/build.
Several of Joshua’s designs have been published in local and national magazines. In 2020, he was featured in Colorado Homes Magazine as a winner of one of the top 5 under 40 designers.
In late 2020, Joshua made the decision to forge his own path and founded Sketch Design Studio in order to provide quality designs unique to each client and landscape.
Joshua enjoys the challenge of meeting and exceeding clients’ desires within landscape and budget constraints. He provides a hands-on, personalized experience for clients by truly listening to their wants to create a functional and artistic landscape design. He has a passion for using native plant material and sustainable design practices, as well as outside-the-box ideas. In addition to design, Joshua also offers architectural oversight during the construction of a project. It’s not uncommon to see Joshua out in the field working side-by-side with installation crews to ensure the best build for your design.
